In the Season 4 Episode 4, the BAU’s comes to know about a series of accidents in Sherwood, Nevada. The, accidents are intriguing as the victims of the same have already been dead. The killer after eliminating his victims puts their dead bodies into fake car accidents, in order to cover up his deeds. The agents also discover that the killer’s victims are generally couples who stay at his motel and that he abducts and tortures his victims before giving them a painful death. The investigations lead the team to a man who manages a motel in a resort area. The team then learns that yet another couple has been abducted. This result in agents Morgan, Prentiss, and Hotchner conducting a raid on a roadside motel which they suspect of being the operational base of the serial killer and where he might have held as captives the recently kidnapped couple.
